Cannot believe this...

My lil miss has turned back down. Just a week ago she was breech again. I'm still at 2cm and 50% and really high he said. Too high to induce me he also told me. He said because she is so high that there is a risk of the cord. So I go back Monday and hopefully she will have moved down by then and if so then I go to be induced on Tuesday...her due date. I asked him if he thought she would turn again and he said normally he would say no but since she has been going back and fourth for a month he won't tell me yes or no. He said he couldn't believe it last week when she turned breech and now just a week later she is head down again. Is there anything I can do to get her to move down?

Re: Cannot believe this...

I heard that you can use a bright light to move them around. Sometimes drs move them from the outside, but that sounds dangerous to me.
You really do have a stubborn baby don't you? She just doesnot want to come out!

Serioulsy? A pedicure? Does it work if you just paint your toenails?

Just out of curiousity...why are you going to be induced when you're not overdue?

I have no clue. Last week at my Dr appt my Dr asked me if we had talked about inducing and I said no well then we found out lil miss was breech so he didn't say another word about it. We talked about scheduling a C-section had she not turned but during the week she turned herself around. So, yesterday at my appt. my dr once we found out she was head down again asked if I wanted to talk about inducing so I said sure. Well, then she is up too high still so inducing would be dangerous because of the cord. I've heard of plenty of women getting induced before their due date for no reasons. I know with my one Dr he said she would be close to 8lbs and I was scared so I wanted to induce because with my DS he was 7.4 and I tore and had an epistomy. But there is no way she is 8lbs and still turning like she is.

Re: Cannot believe this...

You might want to do some research on the risks of inducing before you consent to it. I believe inductions have a higher rate of C-section than normal labor, I think it's because the stronger contractions can cause fetal distress. I'm not sure though, you'd have to look it up.

As far as the baby possibly being bigger, if your doctor is going by the ultrasound, ultrasounds are notorious for being off on weight by as much as 2 pounds. Plus, since she's your second baby, your body should be able to handle delivering a bigger baby.

Maybe all the movement that the baby's doing means that she's not ready to come out yet (along with the fact that she's still high). Just my two cents worth...unless there's some sort of medical reason, why not just let wait a week and see what happens.

Re: Cannot believe this...

Sounds to me like you and the lil miss need to have a talk when she does come out. She is going to drive you crazy!! LOL. I can't believe her but my gut feeling is that with the way she has been acting that when she is ready she will come on her own with no big problems. Think about it, she has managed to flip around how many times now and she hasn't even gotten her cord around her neck. If she can manage that so far I think she will manage getting down there with no problems when she needs to. Although I you should sign her up for gymnastics as soon as she comes out. I really feel for you though because as entertaining as she is keeping us I think you must really worry about her moving so much with the cord and all.

Oh we are going to have a looooooong talk lol. Today at my massage we were talking and the lady who I go to was like "Wow, this one has a mind of her own and she isn't even here yet." It's just kind of annoying and I know my body and how it feels when she moves back to breech and it's almost like she is trying to again. I don't understand it at all. Everyone says I need to sign her up for gymnastics lol. I am worried about the cord. Would they see if she was wrapped around it on the U/S? The one doctor said she would be big because I was measuring out a week early. I know she'll come on her own but I'm so uncomfortable and I keep getting bigger and bigger. If on Monday she is breech again I am going to ask about just doing a C-section. Everyone I talk to is so surprised about how many times she has turned. In the last 4 weeks she has turned 3 times. It's like she doesn't like to be head down. I just get my hopes up and then she turns again and then I get use to the fact of a C-section and then she turns AGAIN! I guess I will just relax and maybe she will come. Although, my therapist today said that normally whne your feet and ankles start to swell that means the baby is trying to move down because then it's cutting off circulation. So far my ankles and feet haven't been bad until last night. It hurt so bad to take off my toe ring I was screaming. My toes are so fat now. If there were risks of being induced why would a Dr do it just to do it? ::::

Re: Cannot believe this...

FYI - I think the rubbing of the feet during the pedicure is what is supposed to induce labor. Wonder if the doctor wants to induce before she flips again. Maybe he figures your risk of a C-section are actually less if he induces while she is head down. Little stinker

Re: Cannot believe this...

Wow I never thought that that would be why he would want to induce but it makes PERFECT sense with this lil girl lol. I had a massage today and she did my ankles so hopefully that will do something. I read somewhere that most 2nd time moms don't drop until they go into labor so maybe her not dropping isn't all that bad but I know that when she finally drops she can't turn up again lol. My massage therapist today said I am in need of one more pedicure before she is born because after she is here it'll probably be awhile so maybe I'll go get a pedi Saturday if nothing has happened by then.

Re: Cannot believe this...

Your lil miss must be up pretty high. My little guys head has beasically been right above my pelvic bone since the 7th month. I have a very short torso, so maybe that makes a difference. They would be able to see the cord around her neck in the ultrasound. If your dr hasn't showed you the cord yet in an ultrasound look for some thing looks like a string of air bubbles. (white circles with black centers in a long string) When my mom was carrying my sister she always hung out hammock style and they thought she wouldn't turn. But the day before my mom went into labor my sister turned head down and had dropped to the point it was uncomfortable for her to sit down. Also with my little guy being so far head down some of my maternity underwear don't even fit anymore and on my maternity pants I am stretching out the elastic now. I tend to wear all my clothes low on my hips. I imagine you can still wear you regular jeans if she is up so high. Lucky you.
