These past couple days I've been having on & off cramps...nothing serious enough for me to pick up the phone, but definitely uncomfortable - a lot like menstrual cramps. Up to now, I've been pretty much cramp-free, and I don't think I ate anything weird that would cause cramping...? Anyone else experiencing anything like this?
When you get the cramps do they start in your back and go around the front? Also when you are having the cramps does the top of your stomach get hard? If so you are probably having "real" contractions, if the top of your stomach isn't getting really hard then it might just be braxton hick contractions!
They don't start in the back - more like in the ovary area, sorta down and to the side of my belly - and they feel exactly like menstrual cramps, although I had a really sharp one this morning. I've been feeling the Braxton Hicks for awhile now, and these don't feel like that - the Braxton Hicks don't hurt or anything, just feel like my belly tightening up and getting hard all over. These definitely hurt and feel like cramps. Not sure if my tummy's getting hard too - I'll have to pay attention when I get another one. But they're also not consistent at all, I mean it's not like I'm having a cramp every 20 minutes or something, so I wouldn't think it's real contractions? Maybe I will call my doc just to make sure...
I'm also 34 weeks and have been getting a lot of cramps too. My dr said that while they can be normal, you also need to pay closer attention to them at this stage, since it could turn into labor. But since you said it's not in your back, then it's probably just the normal cramps. But if it doesn't feel just right, I would call your dr. I had contractions and cramps every 2 minutes a few weeks ago, and they had me go to the hospital cause I kept saying it didn't feel right. Turns out it was just b.h.'s, but I had to hear it from the dr and nurse to make me feel better about it. Good luck, and let us know what your dr says about it!
