Hoping for Answers on HCG
I just turned 35 and found out I am pregnant again. It has been 10 years since I have done this and we have lost 8 since 2001 and 2 failed IVF's. I implanted three days after my period ended and my HCG levels were normal for someone 1-2 weeks pregnant. I took another blood test 5 days later and my numbers quadrupled. I am not spotting or bleeding but am worried about what these levels may mean. I am experiencing tender breasts, slight nauseau and fatigue. Someone mentioned molar preganacy. I am not sure what this is or if my level rising is normal. Anyone ever experienced this before???? If so, can you shed some light????

HCG levels are supposed to double roughly every 48-72 hrs in early pregnancy, so it sounds like your numbers are doing what they are supposed to.

My OB told me that HCG levels should double every 2 days in the beginning weeks of pregnancy, so quadrupling after 5 days sounds just right. But it's not only about the number, so stay alert to your body and your Doctor and stay positive.
