Has anyone out there delivered between 32-36 weeks. My daughter is having cervix problems, and Dr. said they wanted to get her to at least 32 weeks. Is this very dangerous to baby to be born at that time? Thanks for any input. Worried Mom
I think your daughter will be fine. The baby's lungs may be immature, but they have a steroid that they can inject into the baby's lungs (while still inside the mother I believe) to help. She should ask the Dr the possible effects of anything being wrong with the baby, but I think she is pretty much "safe"
I think the baby will be fine. Maybe a little longer stay in the hosptial than usual, but it should be just fine. I was told that 35 and 36 week babies do almost as well as full term babies. And even after 28 weeks they have a really good chance.
Hope all goes well!
I went into labor at 25 weeks and received the steroid shots, our goal was to get me to 32 weeks. Survival rate is terrific at 32 weeks. I made it to 36 weeks and was induced then. By baby girl was perfect and came straight home. Tell your daughter to take it easy and stay off her feet. I was on bed rest for 4 months and it was worth every minute. Good Luck to you all
I went into labor at 32 weeks and got the steroid shots...they give the injection to the Mom which passes on to the baby to help mature the lungs. I had an ultrasound done at that time and she was 4lbs 14oz which was a bit bigger then normal for her gestation but they said they had delivered many preemie babies with very good results. Luckily my labor didn't progress and she didn't come until 36 weeks. but even then she was perfectly fine and came home the next day with me. She weighed 6lbs 11oz. Goodluck, just tell her to stay off her feet and avoid any activity...even washing the floors or standing and doing dishes would make me contract.
