Test to foretell labor

Ijust learned recently that there is a test that drs can do to see if you will go into labor within the next two weeks. Now obvioulsy it isn't foolproof, but if you are high risk you should ask about it. I saw it on TV, but didnt' see much about it, then my sister's bf's sister, the one I told ya'll about losing her twins, went to a new dr adn they told her about the test.
I just wanted ya'll to know, so maybe you could ask your dr about it.

Re: Test to foretell labor

yes it is called a fFn a fetal fibronectin test. I had one when I went into labor at 25 weeks. They are usually pretty acurate and very helpful in cases of high risk, like mine

Re: Test to foretell labor

I will have to ask my OB about it...how do they do the test? (Blood, Urine, Amniotic fluid?) I went into labor at 32 weeks but luckily they were able to stop it and she came at 36 weeks but I have a feeling this little guy is going to come early too.

Re: Test to foretell labor

they take a swab inside from inside your vagina, like a pap. it isn't painful and it is pretty accurate from what I understand
