hey all ive had some other post on this topic but heres my question, i had a D&C on the 4th of may its now june 7th i reported to the clinic where i had the d&C on the 26th of may to check and see if i was still pregnant. thye got my urine ran a test and said it was negative all was well, well heres where my question begins...my boyfriend and i started having sex unproteced week after my D&C not pulling out anything...well i bought and took 7 or 8 home pregnancy test all came back faint positives some like first respone were extremly faint and the clear blue was digital it was negative twice...i went to my regular doctor the urine test there also came back positive..he took blood they called me that day to say my HCG was at 14, which said is bout one week pregnant...question is am i pregnant or is this left over hormone from the D&C process..and if it is that why did the clinics urine test come back negative and now all of the sudden iam getting these faint positives, even at my family doctor. i would think if i had HCG in my urine at the clinic on the 26th it would have showed a line for positive there but they said it was negative...iam very confused and need some help with this..i go back to the doctor tomorrow for more blood work to see if the levels are raising. some opinions ion this would be great... my mind always wonders back how did the clinics test 2 or 3 weeks ago show negative via urine yet now iam getting tons of very faint positives 2 weeks later, i dont see how it could be left over and get negative there then and now get positives even at my family doctor..any help??? thanks so much
I would think that you got pregnant after the procedure, I know when I miscarried I had to keep going in to have my hcg levels checked to make sure they dropped to show I had lost all the tissue and didn't need the D & C. I was lucky and they dropped so I shed it all on my own. But I also know that it is extremely easy to get pregnant afterwards, so if you had unproteced BD then chances are your are newly pregnant since the D&C. I think the next HCG test will tell you more. If it is rising, you are pregnant.
A lot of urine tests only detect HCG at 50 (milliliters i think), so I guess it's possible that you could have been at 45 and it is dropping. I dunno, but I'd say 99% you are pregnant.
I had a natural miscarriage on 03/25/05 and tested negative on a HPT on 04/26/05, but had a BIG FAT positive on 04/30/05. (My HCG levels were so high that my doctor was actually worried). I'm now 10 weeks along and everything is looking good. You will probably be followed by a couple of ultrasounds early on in order to date your pregnancy and make sure everything is looking right.
