I understand your fear, but please remember that no 2 pregnancies are ever the same. You'll possibly start showing a lot sooner than alot of other women. If you're very concerned there's no problem in ever calling your Dr. to be sure. When it comes to your babies health you can never be "overly" concerned. Congrats on your pregnancy.

Yes...10 weeks and very bloated here. The digestive system slows WAY down during pg, so theres lots of gas and other lovely things in the intestines to cause bloating. I actually became VERY constipated as well for 3 weeks (until this morning). I've been taking 2 Surfak (docusate calcium) caplets daily and yesterday ate a whole mess of fruit.
I've heard that eating smaller meals through out the day can help w/bloating and try not to eat too much towards evening because it tends to worsen towards the end of the day. Oh, and drink lot of water.
Hope things get better sooner for you than they are for me!
I started bloating around the 8th week. I ended up getting the early maternity pants around the 10th week because of the bloating. I thought I looked fat & pregnant then. The actual pregnant baby belly started coming filling out around week 17.

i am 11 weeks and it is starting to ease so that it is not constant. the prenatal vitamins can cause problems with your bowels as well. Another thing to avoid is carbonated beverages and gas producing foods such as cabbage and beans.
I purchased my maternity jeans at about 6 weeks because I looked huge!
So, don't worry, you are not alone!
Walking helps keep your digestion working well too. It is hard though especially during the first trimester when all you want to do is nap! : ]
What happend to all of this "your first pregnancy will take longer to show garbage? I was showing at 12wks where ppl were asking when I was due! I'm now 16wks and there is no getting around it, I'm pregnant and everyone knows it. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I love looking pregnant, I just wasn't expecting it until later on.
Just be cautious, Melissa (polbilly). I know you had an ectopic like me in Feb. Since my mother always showed really early, I didn't think much of it when at about 6 wks I went from a size 4, to bursting out of a size 8 where I couldn't even do the zipper, all in one week. What was unfortunately happening was internal bleeding from the ectopic (I was huge). I'm not trying to scare you, everything is hopefully fine, but I would take it very easy and stay close to your doctor until you know its in the right place.
-Be positive!
Still waiting a few days before I can see if I'm preggers again.
I felt like a puffer fish up until about 13 weeks, then it went away. Now it seems to be back again, of course it could just be gas at this point.
It's normal and happens to us all.
LOL Roxyfoxy!!! As quickly as I started to look pregnant, I was very afraid what I'd look like as I got farther along.
Now that I am farther along (27 weeks), the bloating has eased up (I think that started to calm down around week 15 or 16) and even though I'm huge, it's more baby than bloat.
