hydrocodone/newly preg

I just found out I was pregnant and before I knew, I had hurt my back really bad and my doctor gave me pain medicine. I was taking that a few times a day and then I found out I was pregnant. Does anyone know if this will be alright, or has anyone had to take this while pregnant? Its Hydrocodone 10/325.

Re: hydrocodone/newly preg

I don't know anything about this specific med, but it takes the egg 10-14 days to implant in your uterus and a little longer for the placenta to develop and start nourishing the fetus. Before that, it is self-contained and does not take anything from the mother. You should be okay if you stopped when you found out you were pregnant, assuming you found out around 4 weeks or so. If you are still concerned, you can mention it to your doctor, but most likely it didn't affect the fetus.

Re: hydrocodone/newly preg

It should be fine, i wouldn't take a ton of it but with my kidney problem I had at 21 weeks the doctor perscribed the same med to me and said it was the only one that could be taken for this type of pain while pregnant. I'm pretty sure it a OBGYN perscribed it it's fine. I also was told I could use the same thing for migrains when I had them.
