Angry Please Need some advice

hey everyone. I'm due on Monday and have been having contractions for two days straight but they have not been consistent (I will have them every 15 to 5 minutes apart it has varied) anyways, my birthing doula has mentioned that the baby is probably face up which could be preventing labor from actually starting. I'm just confused because I've lost my plug, am spotting and the contractions aren't stopping. Has this happend to anyone else and did you eventually go into labor? I just am so frustrated because I've had contractions for two days and nothing is moving along. Any advice or anything would be greatly appreciated. PLEASE!

Re: Please Need some advice

I have no idea, but I am sorry!
About the face up thing, the OB nurse told me that if the baby was face down you would have back labor, and if it was face up you would have labor in your front. So, I don't see what that would matter.
I think you can have contractions for a long time. What did the dr say?

I think that is accually backwards you want your baby to be face down. When you have back labor it's a sign that it may be face up.I hope she turns for you my friend had her baby last month face up and he was difficult to push out.

Did I tell it backwards? I was afraid I might have, I kept forgetting which way it went, lol.

Hi -

If you've lost your plug, are spotting, and having contractions, call your doctor or go to the L&D at the hospital where your baby is to be born. You probably need to be checked since the contractions have gone on for so long. You may be in labor and are not aware of it - it's possible.

Wishing you well - Barbara

Re: Please Need some advice

I would definetly call you dr. and insist on going to the maternity ward at your hospital. Do you know how dilated you are? Go with what feels right now matter what your doula says they are only there to relax you...remmember that. That is my advice for sure. Good luck with your baby..take care of yourself.
