How soon do you feel the baby?

I believe I am about 5 maybe 6 weeks as many of you know this is my first pregnancy. My first appt to "confirm the pregnancy" is June 21 I found out I was pregy by taking a at home on June 7 is this too late to go into the doctors? I am a little worried about the babys health. I had a few drinks in the weeks before I found out I was pregy. So I am just worrired if the baby is okay. I also want to know when do you feel the baby move? and what should I expect at my dr. appt on the 21 if Iam that far along? thanks for all your advice

Re: How soon do you feel the baby?

Most of the time Dr.s won't see you until you are around 8 wks along. Thats when my 1st appt was. As far as the drinking (of course don't do anymore) but your baby should be fine. In the beginning the baby doesn't receive nutrients from you, it is from the yolk until the placenta forms. And as far as feeling the baby, it will depend a little on your size usually its around 20 wks, some feel it a couple weeks before or couple weeks after then depending on your size like if you are larger than it may take a little longer, and usually first time moms takes alittle while to realize what it is. With my 1st it felt like bubbles popping then gradually got stronger feeling then became kicks. Goodluck to you, try not to worry.

thank you so much for your advice! so the counting weeks starting from the first day of your last period do you start counting from that day or from the last day after you stop bleeding? because I belive I am 6 weeks then I am confused about when we concived? I know the dr will let me know but I dont go untill the 21 and that is to just "confirm" what else will she do at this appt?

Re: How soon do you feel the baby?

They go by the 1st day of your cycle. So technically when you are 8 wks pregnant, the fetus is acutally 6 wks. But they always go by that extra 2wks like from the 1st day or your last cycle. It really confused me last time, cause I wasn't pregnant then, it was like 2wks after. But go by the 1st day.

Re: How soon do you feel the baby?

Simular to an annaul visit. They usualy check urine, blood pressure, will draw some blood, take your weight, tell you your est. due date. Do a pelvic exam and pap smear, and Dr usually talks to you and give you some information.
