I'm currently 19 weeks pg. For the last two days I have had a pain in my ribs on the right side. If I move around or put my arm over my head, it relieves it. Any idea what this is? Growning pains?
This may sound funny but My aunt had the same problem and it was the baby moving and around and her kicking her. My cousin kaitlyn kicked her in the ribs all day long. My aunt thought she might have bruises.lol
I'd venture to guess it's stretching going on of ligaments or something in there. At 19 weeks, the baby isn't big enough to be doing much painful kicking (if you're feeling the baby, you are probably just starting to feel it, or will in the next few weeks). Also, your uterus is getting big, but not big enough yet to really displace your organs to the extent of the discomfort you feel.
I've had aches around my ribcage, diaphram, and that general area since about 15 weeks or so, and it hasn't gone away yet. Sounds pretty normal to me.

Wow that is so weird you mentioned that. Last week I had the same thing happen to me which would've put me at alomst 20 weeks. It was alos my right side. I called my doctor and she said that it does not sound like anything that would have to do with the baby and I should call my family doctor. I called but by the time it came around where I could get in the pain went away. Overall it lasted about 2 full days.
I had that during my pregnancy and let me tell you, I had a 500 dollar ER bill to pay because I was told I had to go to the hospital for it. When I got there, they told me it was nothing. Honestly, I just think they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I've come to the conclusion that if youre pregnant and have any kind of pain it's immediately waved off!
I posted the same question not too long ago. I was told it was due to everything being moved around and my ribs being moved. It goes and comes. Im 24 weeks now and the pain started when I was 20 weeks. My back also started to ache too. Good luck, it will ease soon.
