I haven't had it, but I've heard it's usually happens right around the time your period is due, it's very light (both color and flow) and last a day or few.

Actually I think true implantation bleeding happens around a week before your period is due. Say you ovulated and conceived on day 14 of an average 28 day cycle. I believe the egg then takes about a week to travel down to the womb and implant. Therefore any bleeding will be around day 21 so ealier than you would be expecting for your period. The egg is definately implanted before your period would be due as it is the effects of the implantation that stops you having a period.
It is quite common to have some bleeding around the time your period would be due though. I had a couple of days of very scarce brown blood just about when I was expecting my period. There was no way that I could have mistaken it for a period so I took a test a week later which was positive. My midwife said the bleeding I had was not implantation bleeding because it was too late in my cycle. She said it was just some spotting which was quite normal and that some women continue to have a little bit of bleeding each month for the first few months of pregnancy.

I've been having symptoms for a little while and then this past Wednesday I was due for my period--I'm very regular-- & nothing happened until Friday when I had extremely light (pretty much only when I wiped) either light brown or kind of an orange discharge. It stopped completely on Sunday. My period is usually pretty heavy, dark red, & lasts from Wed. morning to Sun. evening, so this was very abnormal. I took a HPT on Thursday morning (negative) and Friday afternoon (negative). Does this sound like it could be implantation bleeding, and if so, when should I test again? I want to say first good luck I had the slightest of bleeding the same day my period was due. I was pretty sad since I had been wanting to get preg. I had never heard of implantation bleeding until after I got a positive test.
I was due to start my period april 16 and that night I did get the light brown kind of discharge, which is usually how my period starts so I figured that was it. I was concerned when nothing happened the next day. No period no discharge, I decided maybe it was stress and waited 3 days April 19th I took a test and it showed positive. I had taken one before I think maybe the 15th because I wanted to be able to tell my mom on her birthday (the 16th) and that one said not preg. That is my experience, I think that may have been implantation bleeding.

The test this morning came back negative. I think I should just accept that as fact. I'm just so confused because I've never experienced symptoms like this or had an abnormal "period." I might test again this weekend, just to have some finality. Thank you all for your responses
I think that is what just happened to me, it was light pink or dark brown but always watered down looking and it last about the elngth me period would. Sometimes i would feelan occassional cramp or two.
