Re: increased fetal movement..distress??
The most active movement (the gymnastic-like movement) occurs between weeks 24 and 28 when the baby is strong enough to kick, but still has plenty of room to bounce around, so your are right in the middle of that stage.
I seem to recall around 26 weeks, I was starting to get annoyed with all the moving going on. It didn't hurt...it just seemed to not quit and I wanted a break from the sensations. I think by your post, it sounds pretty similar to what went on with me.
I was 27 weeks when I asked my doctor about movement. He said I should feel the baby moving every single day, and I should be satisfied the movements are strong enough and the overall movement was enough throughout the day that I felt the baby was active & healthy. Anything less than that and I should be calling the doctor.
In my conversations, I was told the moving is good. I cannot comment on distress, I think only your doctor can determine that. If you are concerned, you should call your doctor ASAP.
Hope that helped.
