Are cramps normal?

I am 29 and just found out that I am pregnant for the first time. I haven't felt anything other than really sore breasts, but a couple of days ago I started having mild cramps. I can't tell if they are gas pains, stomach pains, or what, but so far, there is no bleeding. Is this normal at six weeks and does anyone else have this?

Re: Are cramps normal?

Yes cramps are normal due to your uterus stretching. As long as you aren't bleeding with cramps you should be okay!! Congrats on your little one!!

Re: Are cramps normal?

Yep, I'm due February 20th. God, it seems so far away! Thank for the info. I'll rest much easier knowing that all of the strange stuff I'm going through is completely normal.

Re: Are cramps normal?

Definitely normal, and I'm there with you. I'm 28 and pregnant with our first as well. I had cramps the week I found out I was pregnant (thought it was AF), and I still have them a little bit now and then (I'm 10 weeks.) My nurse said that it's your uterus stretching, and sometime b/n 8-12 weeks the muscles give up. If you have any bleeding along with, call your doc. But cramps are normal, some women have them, some don't. Mine were so bad sometimes, for about ten minutes, and then they'd taper off. No worries! Congratulations on your pregnancy!
