Gatorade ok to drink?

i know that soda's and coffee should be limited during pregnancy, how about gatorade??? considering its contents? is that just as bad, or is it ok to drink it occasionally or not at all????

but i think i read somewhere that pregnant women can have a glass a wine a day when they are at a certain point of their pregnancy....right? so gatorade should be ok, right? correct me if i am wrong.

thanks.

Yes! I asked my docter about gatorade cause I love the stuff! He said its fine to drink but in moderation! But orange juice and apple juice was better! So yes gatorade is fine every once in awhile!

I don't see why not!!! It's got good for you stuff in it.

Wine? That I'm not so sure about. I have read that there is no evidence of how much or little alcohol affects the baby, and that to be safe you should NEVER drink while pregnant.

Re: Gatorade ok to drink?

I just read a humorous book regarding the restrictions pregnant women have. I believe it was called I'm Pregnant, or You're Pregnant. It was at my sister in law's so I can't remember exactly. anyway, regarding alcohol it said in the "old" days docs told pregnant women to have a beer or some wine to calm nerves. I'm not saying to do that, but it was just pointing out that by all of the restrictions and warnings we now have, technically we should all be dead or severely deformed! It was just an enlightening book to read to help us wacky pregnant women relax.

Re: Gatorade ok to drink?

I don't see the problem with occasional Gatorade, but I'd check with your doctor first! Still, Gatorade has lots of good electrolytes to keep you hydrated, but obviously, juice is better (if you're not diabetic) because of the many vitamins. As far as the wine goes, stay far away, no matter what you hear! I do remember my aunt drinking a glass of wine once late in her last pregnancy, but I wouldn't recommend it. Why go so far along to spoil the baby's health with a little wine? I say, wait a few months until after the baby's born to quench your desire for wine!

Re: Gatorade ok to drink?

I now hear that Gatorade is bad for your teeth and gums causes cavaties. Also My doc said the reason why ppl are saying a glass of wine is ok is that bc there havent been alot of studies on it so they just dont know for sure.

Re: Gatorade ok to drink?

I dont understand why you should even limit gatorade. It's mainly water. Anyway I drank it everyday when I was pg (it was less sugar then juice) and my sons just fine in fact he is in the 90th percentile for his height
