I have a question about my HCG levels. I took my HCG levels Tuesday and they were 4,441 and they are supposed to double every 48 hours. I went back today and did more blood work to check out my HCG levels and they tripled to over 12,000. So my question is does that mean anything signifigant? My husband seems to think that it might be twins. Any response would be appreciated. Thank you.
that is what I'm told too. While taking one of my blood tests (I feel like a pin cushion!) I was talking to another girl who had undergone IVF. Her last pregnancy was twins. And she knew because her HcG levels were double what they were normally. When she was having a singleton, her HcG level was something like 2,000, and her 10 day with twins was 7, 000.
My question is, have you had more than one test? How many days between tests, and what were the numbers at both.
I took my first test on Tuesday and my HCG levels were 4,441. I went back today and my HCG levels were over 12,000. My doctor told me that your HCG levels are supposed to double every 48 hours, and mine tripled. So it just made me kind of curios.
yes it very well could be twins but it also depends how early in the pg you are also my DR. said that they can triple early on while the hcg is beginging to take off.. But you could always look at it as you are being blessed with a very healthy pregnancy that might be twins!!!!
to the other part they draw the hcg levels every two days with the notion that a healthy pregnancy doubles every 48 to 72 hours (im kinda good with the hcg level info since i had an ectopic and a miscarriage in the last 5 months and am pg again they have to test me every 2 days until they find the baby in the uterus b/c of the ectopic) so i hope this helps
