Hard Stomach? what does this mean?

I have been gaining weight-mostly in my stomach..i think. well i took several preg.test and they were all negative. Well...for some reason my stomach is getting larger. It looks like I am 7 months preg. I am small bulit so I know this just isnt normal. My stomach is hard all around the top , on the sides in the middle, pretty much everywhere.I am also getting strech marks?? I don't know what all that means. I haven't missed a period but I thought I was preg. a while back, b/c I was having all the symtons but the test was neg. I just don't see how my tummy could look and feel like I was preg. if I am not. Can anyone tell me what their stomach feels like if you are pretty far along?
I would really like some advice. I have military doctors and sometimes I am not sure if they are always accurate. If anyone is military out there you know what I mean.

Thank you
lindsay

Re: Hard Stomach? what does this mean?

Can you feel any movements inside?
If your belly is as large as you say, you should be able to feel feet, elbows and hands when the baby is moving.

Have you had sex?
I know that was a silly question but you never know!

you could be allergic to something like wheat, dairy products etc.
Are you getting anyother symntomns?

Re: Hard Stomach? what does this mean?

Have you been to the doc for a blood test or ultrasound and is your period late?

Re: Hard Stomach? what does this mean?

hi lindsay, i am "military" spouse so i understand wat u mean by "military doctors"....but can't u go in for a blood test? cuz usually they can find out more accurately thru blood test. or are there any further tests they can give u to find out wats really wrong with you. why don't u ask for a thyroid test to be done on u? sometimes that could cause you to gain weight fast, but don't think in the tummy area only.

Re: Hard Stomach? what does this mean?

Thank you everyone for any advice. My husband and I have been ttc since last September.
well Like I said when I was having all the signs of being pregnant..like feeling sick, sore breast, feeling very tired and of course enlargeing stomach.I think I did sometimes feel movement thats why I was a little concerned. my stomach is bigger now than what it was. When I stand up it is harder then when I am lying down. When I do lye down I cannot sleep on my stomach. It feels like i can't breath and is very uncomfy. Very awkward feeling. I made an appointment and had a urine test and blood test and they were both negative. That of course was with the doctor. She knew at the time that my stomach was enlarging and she could see on the chart that I had gained weight. I had an ultra sound doen but it was not on my stomach..why I don't know. They only looked t my kidneys, liver, pancreas. ect..did not move the thing over my stomach. I was a little confused! So after all that I was like okay...Maybe I am just gaining weight. Okay that has been about a month and a half and thats when I started noticing the stretch marks. I have noticed a urinate a lot now..2-3 times a night. Not normal for me. I am going to give it a little bit longer and then go to the doctor. I just hate to b'c they look at me like I am some nut! I wish I had some answers!

To the Military wife,
I really don;t care for military doctors! I think they take them straight out of boot camp and put them in the doctors office! lol!

Thank you everyone!
Lindsay

Re: Hard Stomach? what does this mean?

I'm surprised they did not look at your uteris when you got the ultrasound. If the blood tests are negative then I don't think you are pregnant. I think by now you would definately feel something! I am 19 weeks and I feel movement.
Are you having any pains in your stomach?
My grandmother has alot gastreointestinal problems, she has for years. Her stomach got real big and she always jokes how she looks pregnant.
Please let us know how everything turns out. Good luck.

Re: Hard Stomach? what does this mean?

Girl, you need to just tell the doctors what you want them to do. Most of the time they just guess anyway. Tell them you want an ultrasound done to see if you are pregnant. It sounds like you are. And if not then there is some other medical problem. That is not normal. My husband told me that I had to speak up or they will do what they want. Good Luck!

Re: Hard Stomach? what does this mean?

Since all tests blood and hpt come out negative for you - I really think you should see a specialist gastrointestional (spelling)?? type Dr.

you could have a very serious situation and need medical attention right away... I can't imagine Dr's missing a pregnancy. No matter how bad they are.

Re: Hard Stomach? what does this mean?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the board and I have a little problem here lol. I too am a military wife. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for some time now and lately I've been feeling very strange. My last period was June 15th and it's now August 5th. My stomach is hard at the bottom (I have a little belly, which isn't exactly normal this early even if I was pregnant), my stomach is somewhat crampy but nothing like period cramps, I have hot flashes like I'm in a sauna and its about 50 degrees in my house, I can't sleep very well, and my breasts seem to be getting larger but they don't hurt. I also have been having mood swings, it's like I'm all happy and chipper one minute and the next minute I'm chewing my husbands head off (poor guy ) I also have really bad gas (I know it's nasty but I'm sorry I had to tell you!). I'm constantly going to the bathroom and I used to only go like 3-4 times a day. I've taken a million pregnancy tests and they are all coming back negative. Please help me....the way you guys are talking I'm afraid to go to the military doctors.
