it "MIGHT" be twins....I just got back from my second u/s..Im going into my 26th week and at the end of my u/s the doc. said..."looks like you might be having twins but we have other people waiting so we'll check in about 4 weeks at your next apt." I don't know if i should be excited or what..I don't trust docs around here anymore because this is about the 14th one ive been to and they all seem well...stupid LOL how can they not know if its twins at 26 weeks??????? He said my boy that i KNEW i was having was lookin good!!! but thats just confusing and frusterating..i mean TELL ME IF IT IS OR ISNT MY GOD!!!!!

have they heard 2 heartbeats this may help. what a jerk of a doctor did he not think you might want to be prepared asap if you are having twins. i agree with you perhaps he is stupid if he can't tell at 26 weeks. hope you find out soon
nope..he didnt hear 2 heartbeats but then again they only listened for about 1/4 of a second just to make sure they heard one which also pisses me off...i mean i know other people are waiting to be seen....but i was there for 4 hours waiting...GOD i need to find a doc. around here that i can trust this is tooooooo stressful
i did request another u/s and they said you gotta wait your 4 weeks since nothing was wrong blah blah
so im just going to go to the hospital...pay 4500 to get it done AGAIN lol and then move to a state where docs. actually HAVE to go to school lol
i did ask why he thought that and he said "well i think i see 2 of the lil guys in there" i was like wait..you THINK....shouldnt you KNOW by now he said "well i cant tell you 100% yet thats why we'll check at the next apt."

I agree with everyone else, he's an idiot! I can't imagine how frustrated you feel right now. Have you gained more weight then you should have? Do you feel kicking on both sides of your tummy? I think he's just a weird one!
Oh my gosh, I would have so said "Oh HECK no am I leaving this office til you find out for sure!!!!!!!!!". That is SOO wrong to say something like that then put off finding out. I mean you're 26 weeks along, what does he want to wait for? til you're actually in labor giving birth?, what a jerk. Maybe its not too late to find another obgyn.

i am measuring a little ahead..but only by like a week or two and all the rest of the docs ive been to say thats normal but they all were...kinda like this one!!!! lol
That sounds ridiculous. Why couldn't he tell, you are 26 wks, it ought to be pretty freaking simple. Does he know how to read the ultrasound? Sounds like he doesn't know what he is doing. Is there an imaging center around that you could request your next ultrasound be done at so that you could get an ultrasound from a Qualified Ultrasound tech. Jeez that is stupid. I know at my first visit the Dr. said my uterous was about the size of a 10-12 wk instead 8 wks which is what I was. And she said it could be nothing or multiples. And sch me for an ultrasound in 2 wks, which we only saw the one baby then. But I can't imagine having to wait 4 wks when you are already 26 wks along, and plus all that you have already been thru just having your pregnancy confirmed. WOW, I feel for you, we have compitant doctors in Virginia. Keep us updated.

well it quite common to miss twins on an ultrasound untill around 20 - 25 weeks into the pregnancy. Also 2 hearts beats can be easily missed because one is so faint or it just sounds like an echo form on e heart beat. i was told i might be havign twisn at 8 weeks. they only saw one then so im hoping there is only one. I would look a little more detailed into this, and maybe see if you could get a better answer then " might." Good luck and take care.
