Is it possible??

Hey wondering if you can help...

My friend is 10 weeks pregnant and she is a worrier. She said she read some stories about women m/c but not having bleeding or anything and only finding out when they have there first u/s.

Is this possible?

Re: Is it possible??

I don't think it is possible to miscarry like that, but it is possible for the baby to not have a heartbeat at the first u/s. This happened to a very close friend to me. She went in for her 8 week u/s and there wasn't a heartbeat, but she hadn't miscarried yet. After she didn't have the miscarriage a week later, her doctor performed a DNC.

Re: Is it possible??

yes it is possible its not that they dont have bleeding it just hasnt started yet. i know of a women who got to see the heart beat at 8 weeks and went in for another ultra sound at 16 weeks and the baby had died two weeks earlier however her body had not yet physically miscarried even though the baby died. so yes she is right in what she tells you it can happen that was but eventually the body will bleed and if it doesnt the dr will have to remove it

Re: Is it possible??

Pobilly, I think she is asking if you can m/c the fetus without bleeding. I may be misunderstanding her post!

The baby passing away and it not being detected until ultrasound is a miscarriage you have to bleed to expel the remains but the the miscarriage can occur and not have any bleeding until weeks later

Re: Is it possible??

I see what you are saying. For some reason I thought she was talking about actually expelling the baby.
