No period and pregnancy?

Hi girls-
I 19 years old and I started my period at the age of 14 and started bcp's at 15 and stopped taking them at 16 and haven't had a regular period since. I have had maybe 5. I have been to plenty of doctors. They all say I'm okay? I don't know what to do. I am engaged and ttc #1. I am curious if you can ovulate w/o a period or even get preg. w/o a period? No, I don't have protected sex. I don't "try" to conceive. Right now I see it as if I get preg...good...if I don't I won't be depressed. But I am not doing anything to prevent it. I want a baby, yes. I am ready so please don't talk bad about my opinions in anyway. Please answer my question if possible. Thank you girls. Sorry if I come off as "rude" or anything. I'm not! Love you all -Kelly

Re: No period and pregnancy?

Hi Kelly! When you went to the doctors did you let them know you are currently ttc? I myself have not had a problem such as yours but I know on the TTC boards you might get some good responses. I learned a lot from them ! I know there is a drug called provera which you can take to start your period. It is possible to get pregnant even without a period since you can still ovulate irratically. I dont think its very common for this to occur but it does happen. You should maybe see a fertility specialist or a good obgyn and explain your situation and im sure you can come out with a "game plan" LOL!! My problem with ttc was that my periods were becoming irregular (50-56 cylce days!) I took the liquid form of vitex for 3 weeks and I ended up becoming pregnant. vitex is a herb used to regulate your periods, you can find it most natural and health food stores. If you are curious about vitex I have a few posts that explain it a little more if you care to look them up.
I hope this helped you and if not, at least you know we care!! Good luck sweetie!!!

Re: No period and pregnancy?

even with periods it does not mean you are ovulating, but with sporadic periods it seems that if you are ovulating it is not often also if your periods are irregular how would you know if you were pg? my cousin has the same problem as you and she went to get tested out she found out she has low progesterone levels and is not ovulating they think maybe polycystic ovaries. even past fertility is not an indication of current fertitlity as my cousin has been pg in the past. good luck i hope you get bfp soon but you won't really know if you are fertile without the tests or ttc good luck
