Flu Shot?

Hi there! I was wondering if anyone could share their doctor's advice on whether or not to get a flu shot, and if so, at what point in the pregnancy. My dh and I have been TTC for the last several months. We are just about to wrap up this month's go-around, so of course the possibility exists that I could be pg right now (am in the 2WW). My doc said go for the shot, but I'm a little afraid, because I heard you shouldn't have the shot in the first trimester. Of course if AF comes in two weeks I'll get the shot, but I'm just afraid right now, "just in case." Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

Re: Flu Shot?

Hmm well I am 26 weeks pregnant and I got a my flu shot a few days ago. My doctor really thought I should have it. I got it not because I ever really get the flue, but lol if I get the flur with my morning sickness, I am going to be one unhappy camper.

Re: Flu Shot?

When you are pregnant you are considered to be high risk so it is recommended to get the flu shot. However, I'm not sure at what point it is okay to take the shot. I am 31 weeks and my doctor is making sure I have mine done before my appointment in 2 weeks. If he/she tells you that it's okay to take it now, then I wouldn't worry.

Re: Flu Shot?

My doctor told me I need to have one. She said it's not good in the first trimester though and to wait until the second trimester, but she didn't say why. They haven't gotten any in at our clinic yet, but I'm going to get one.
