Hello, I am 12 wks 3 days along. I went for my regular prenatal check up just the other day, and they were not able to find to find a heart beat on the heart doppler thing they stuck on my tummy but she said it was common cause I am still early. So I went into the ultrasound room and they did got the heart beat with that. However my concern is that at my 9 week check up they got a heart beat of 175 bpm and this time they only got it at 169 bpm. Is that normal for it to be different? The doc didn't say anything about it. But I am just wondering? any information would be apprecaited thanks.

Hi Rainy..... Rest assured, your babys' heartrate will vary throughout your whole pregnancy.... Anywhere betweenn 120 and 180 is considered normal.

This is coming from a mom of three wonderful children: Anthony is 11, Anna is almost 5 and Isabella is 5 months.....

Congratulations... How exciting for you. Isabella is my last child and its sad sometimes i wont be able to feel a baby moving inside me or the excitement of it all!!

It's completely normal for the baby's hb to change throughout your pregnancy. Just like an adult's hb is not the same every time. the first hb of my baby was 179 and the last one was 150. but thats perfectly normal. dont worry about it!!!

Typically the heartbeat starts out slowly & peaks at around the 8-9 week mark then starts to drop back down until it settles somewhere between 120-160.

We got a heartbeat at 6 weeks that was 108... at 8 weeks it was 180 and at 13 weeks it was 155. Now it kind of hangs around 135-140.

it will never be the exact same figure all the time but as long as it is within a normal range don't fret. also the doc could not hear my babys heart beat at 15 weeks i waited till i was 17 weeks and then the midwife got it.

Mine was 175 BPM at the first appointment. 165 BPM and the second. Last week he was at 135 BPM. It will differ.
