The line has only darkened a little bit for me, not that noticeable. And I have gotten a few stretch marks on my outer thighs, but not bad. I have not gotten any on my tummy or breasts yet.
I actually read in my pregnancy book that the line can show up when you are only 20 weeks pregnant. My sister nor my mother ever got it, but they got the stretch marks BAD! I am hoping that I am spared, but I might not be so lucky. They got them on the stomach, but not the hips and thighs.
I never got a single stretch mark until my last two weeks of pregnancy. (I was a week overdue) You never know when you are going to get them. My baby was over 10 lbs, and I was little, so I guess I'm lucky my stretch marks weren't much worse. I really didn't think I would get any at all, since my mother and my aunts never had stretch marks, but they never had 10 lb babies, either. Don't worry so much about them. They fade.
I have everyone beat...my brown line showed up around 25 wks and I started getting little tiny stretch marks on my hips around that time as well. By the time my due date came I had quite a few but not too bad on the lower part of my abdomen. Well, DS didn't want to come out so I went almost 2 weeks over and by then was covered in stretch marks! My tummy top and bottom, thighs, hips, breasts and calves, yes I have some on my calves. I had major water retention and gained 68lbs in total. My son was 9lbs 6ozs and I am only 5'3" tall weighing 125 before I g/p.
Hopefully this pregnancy won't make things worse! If that's even possible.

Yep, that's what happened to me too! I am 5'2 and was 103 pounds pre pregnancy. I had an 8 pound 5 ounce baby!! I never got the line and now that I'm almost 32 weeks pg, I haven't noticed it yet. I do see a couple of tiny new stretch marks appearing. I was hoping to avoid getting anymore. They're battle scars, right?
The creams do not make you not have stretch marks. A good indicator is if your mother had stretch marks or not, or in what intensity she had them. The cream or any lotion or cream for the matter is great because in keeps you moisturized and your skin stetches. And, you don't get stretch marks after you have your baby, you already had them while pregnant but now they are noticeable because you went back down in size and your able to see them.
As for me, my mom only got a few tiny ones on her bum. I am hoping that is all I get too. I already have a couple there from when I was bigger. Two years ago I was 120 at 5'2" and when I lost 10 pounds I was left with those little ones on my bum too.
