2 questions

Hey ladies I am 25 weeks and have gained 16 pounds I feel like thats a lot but my dr is not worried.. thats like est 2 pounds a month in the past 5 months.. I am worried though is that too much and how fast does the baby gain weight... my baby was measuring est 10-11 ounces at 19 weeks I feel huge but everyone is saying I'm small.. I am all in the front. you cant even tell I am pregy from the back I have always had a small frame.. I am afraid of having a huge baby..is 16 pounds too much?

2nd question is I am having my test done in 2 weeks for glucoles.. they gave me a orange drink to have before they take my blood.. they said dont eat any sugar that day so no I am wondering what I can eat that day.. I dont want to fail the test.. so what can I eat that day.. my appt isnt untill like 130 or so.. so any idea on that

Re: 2 questions

16lbs is not alot of weight, normal is 30-35 lbs in a healthy pregnancy so dont panic, when I went for my 1 hour glucose test they told me to ear what I would normally eat at breakfast, dont emphasize on it too much cause if your gonna fail, and you have an intolerence it will show regardless, if they wanna retest they will give you the 3 hour test, I had gestationla diabetes with all three of my kids, this one so far the diet is doing good no biggie!

Re: 2 questions

I went in for my glucose test at 6 AM so I didn't need to eat anything. Go in as early as possible and eat afterwards. It makes the results easier to read.

16 pounds isn't a huge deal. Alot of women stock gaining weight in the last month, and some even lose. Don't stress about it, just eat a healthy diet and you'll be fine.

Re: 2 questions

I've gained 14 lbs and I am 14 wks! My midwife isn't worried, so I'm not. I can't get enough to eat it seems! Also this is my 2nd so I'm gaining quicker and getting big quicker. I think 16 lbs at 25 wks sounds about right. Overall isn't 30-35 lbs (depending on your pre-pregnancy weight) a good total amount?

You're fine for now! It's very easy to get caught up with weight gain. My glucose test was handled differnetly than yours. I was told to eat normally and to not change my eating habits for a test. However, I didn't go out before the test (which was at 2:30 pm) and get an ice cream cone, I waited until after LOL
