Wart treatments

I have 2 warts on my feet that are driving me nutts! I only have 2 weeks to go before birth, so I guess its no big deal if I can't use those over the counter treatments while pregnant. However, is it safe to use them while breastfeeding? I want to take care of them before the summer even though that's a ways away, I am just curious to find out.

Re: Wart treatments

Hi
I asked my doctor about this because I have a few on my feet too (I'm only 24 weeks). She said the OTC stuff (that acid or whatever it is) is not safe during pregnancy. I'm not sure about breastfeeding though, but I'd think it might be the same case--I don't know. They're (the ones of the feet) really tough to get rid of though and I hate them so I asked her if I could just have them frozen off and she gave me a referral. So far so good! It kind of hurts though...not too bad.

Re: Wart treatments

Actually they make the freeze over the counter now. It is in a blue box in the wart aisle. I had some on my hand and I used it, for me if didn't work and I went to the dermatologist and they froze them, a lot! And they still are not gone, but I hope it works for you, may be a good alternative to try first.

Hmm, so the freeze treatments didn't work? That sucks to know.

Re: Wart treatments

The over the counter freeze treatment did not work for me, I also used the acid medication discs and did both for nearly a year! I finally went to the dermatologist and they froze my warts really good, cause I told them they were subborn and after my skin crusted, blistered and fell off then are all still there! So, for me personally it did not work, but for you it may work. You could try it!

Re: Wart treatments

I have had worts for years and really, they just keep coming back. I've had them frozen off so many times. Now that I'm pregnant, I've got a new growth of them on my tummy I'm going to ask my doctor about it when I see him on Tuesday.

Re: Wart treatments

Wow, I have never heard of warts on the stomach. Did you ever get them there before or is this new with this pregnancy? You're getting pretty close... maybe they'll go away right after delivery! Good luck.
