2nd pregnancy - lack of symptoms

I'm a little concerned. I'm 5 weeks pg with my second. With my son, I had every symptom and then some. My boobs killed, I was so tired and just felt sick until about 11/12 weeks. Now, I've really got nothing. My boobs are only slightly tender and I'm a little more tired than normal but nothing crazy. I dont feel all that sick...a little from time to time.

Has anyone else had a second pregnancy that was soooo different than the first??

Re: 2nd pregnancy - lack of symptoms

My second is way different than my first. It's actually almost exactly how you describe it - except backward. My first was great. A little sick from time to time, a little tired, a little this, a little that. There is nothing little at all with this one - everything I'm experiencing is a LOT. A lot of tired, a lot of breast pain, a lot of moodiness, a lot of stupidness (I took chicken out of the freezer for dinner the other day, and then a few minutes later took out ground beef and didn't realize it until my dh asked me why they both were out). It's crazy how different they are!

Re: 2nd pregnancy - lack of symptoms

I can echo sickofit as well...this one is very different from ds. I had no days of vomitting, just the occaisonal nausea that went away quickly. I was a bit tired but it too passed easily. My breasts weren't abnormally tired at all. This time I was queasy for 8 weeks, still am exhausted and my breasts hurt so much it is hard to go down stairs and I am 11.5 weeks now.
Each pregnancy is different although you are a rareity from what I have read....most people experience worse symptoms with #2 than #1.

Re: 2nd pregnancy - lack of symptoms

This is my first, but I have heard many women say every pregnancy is different. Also I didn't begin to get any symptoms until about 7 weeks. My morning sickness lasted two weeks with this pregnancy. With time I am sure may you begin to feel your symptoms.

Re: 2nd pregnancy - lack of symptoms

If it's any consolation, my pregnancy symptoms didn't kick in until around week 7 or 8. I walked around for two weeks in absolute blisss. I was thrilled that I felt so good. The WHAM, every symptom in the book hit my like a ton of bricks.

If you want my advice, it would be to enjoy it while it lasts, because if you're anything like me, you'll be WISHING that you had no symptoms again. LOL

Re: 2nd pregnancy - lack of symptoms

My first succesful pregnancy was awful with symptoms, I expierienced morning sickness from the very beguinning until the day she was born multiple times per day even hospitalized for dehydration brought on by it. She was a large baby for my body type coming in at 8.8lbs and 22 inches with a 19inch head. She was postier and so large she was delivered by c-section. She also cost me my gull-bladder (OUCH). Kailie my second daughter was conceived when Tiffany was only 3 months old. When I went in for a check up 5 months post Tiff I ended up arguing with the doctor that there was no way I was pregnant since I didn't feel a thing only thing missing was my period and figured that was hormonal. Nope 7 months later here was Kailie, never felt a symptom one. I was especially surprised by my breasts not hurting since that was a major issue in the first. Again a healthy baby girl. So don't worry you still have plenty of time to get symptoms or you may be lucky on this one. I am now with my third daughter and unfortunately she is similar to the first with symptoms they are all just different.

Re: 2nd pregnancy - lack of symptoms

I am glad to see this post. I am 5 weeks and wrote that I only have a few symptoms as before with my last pregnancy I was very sick. I guess it is normal. Who knows in a week I may be sick as a dog. Thanks

Re: 2nd pregnancy - lack of symptoms

When I experienced morning sickness is was weeks' 6-8 and then it quit all at once. Those two weeks was enough for me and my nausea wasn'y as severe as many of women's is. Since I found out early, I went for a few weeks without any symptoms or sickness and then later it hit me. This is my first...

Re: 2nd pregnancy - lack of symptoms

Yeah totally enjoy it! This is my first pregnancy and i have been thru a lot - including an early RASH breakout from my forehead to my ankles for 6 weeks!!! It's been a nightmare - but I am doing great now at 25 weeks!

I sure hope my second pregnancy is MUCH better.... because as tired as I have been I don't think I could handle a baby and being tired like I am this time with the pregnancy!!!!
