I am not sure if I undersand, but I will answer as best as I can. My doctor had me come in for a checkup to see if I was dialated. I was at a 1. He told me if I hadn't been dialated I would have to come in several hours early and they would give me medicine. Since I was dialated I went in about 10AM and they started the induction medicine (Petossin) around 11Am.
I was induced 2.5 years ago at 41 weeks with no dilation of my cervix. I had cervigel inserted on a tampon type to thing at 5:00 at night and again at 10:00 the next morning. By 2:30 that afternoon I had contractions every 45s to 1.5 min but still no dilation. At about midnight I lost my plug but still wasn't dilated much more than 1-2 cm by 10:00 the following morning. That's when they started the oxytocin drip that gradually opened me further.
For most women cervigel works fine but for me it was awful...as was the entire induction. I plan to avoid one at all costs this time. And would recommend to anyone who is overdue to wait it out abit longer just to see what your body will do, unless ofcourse you're health was at risk.
Good luck to you.
