measuring to small

My sister went to the doctor the other day. They told her that she was measuring smaller this pregnancy at this time then she was with her last pregnancy. Her doctor is checking her again friday and they are worried about low amnioc fluids. They maybe doing an ultrasound if things are better then last weeks appointment. My question is what could be cauing her to be measuring smaller with pregnancy. I am worried about the size of the baby and anything else that could go wrong with her measuing small. Her first baby was only 5lbs and 10oz and they also told her that her placneta aged to fast with her first baby. Any ideas on this.

Re: measuring to small

How far along is she? Maybe she isn't as far along as previously thought.

Re: measuring to small

sometimes their estimation of size is poor a friend of mine measured 4 -6 weeks behind her dates with both her babies and told they would be small babies and they were born at 8lbs and 10 lbs. i don't know much about having little fluid so i hope all is well

Re: measuring to small

I was measuring small for a while but I caught up and now I am even a little ahead. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I know alot of people that at times were measuring smaller and everythign worked out just fine.

Re: measuring to small

Thanks. She went to the doctor today and he said he wasn't worried about it. She isn't measuring that small. She is like what 38 weeks she is due thanksgiving day.
