Question Backaches?

Is anyone having backaches? I am 18 weeks pregnant and my back is killing me. Anyone else having this problem?

Re: Backaches?

Is there anything that you can do to help ease the pain?

Re: Backaches?

i find a good rub off dh and sitting/lying on a beanbag helps. my ribs also ached a lot from your stage onwards as they expanded.

Smile Re: Backaches?

Have you considered a Maternity girdle. They offer great support for the back.

Re: Backaches?

I'm not even 8 weeks yet and my back is killing me! Well, it's sore now but Monday and Tuesday I was almost in tears! I had to call out of work on Tuesday it was so bad! Happy to say that I can walk with my shoulders back now and not like a caveman Good luck Mommies!

Re: Backaches?

Thanks for everyones replys. And someone metioned about the ribs mine also hurt. It seems to hurt only on my left side. My back and my ribs. I would stand up and try to strech it out and my dh is looing at me like I am crazy. If he only knew how it felt. He rubs my feet and back so he is doing a good job so far. Just wish he was able to do it all day long. lol well thanks for everyones response.

Re: Backaches?

I would suggest some exercise. Moving and staying in shape will help with backaches and that is why it is recommended early on when you are newly pregnant to begin by walking if you never worked out or was exercising previously. I am in southern California and it will be nearly 75 degrees today ( I think I am going to lay out!) but I understand for those in the cold states that it may be much more difficult. Investing in some exercise equipment would be great, a treadmill or an elipitical machine is good and you can use it to get back in shape after the baby is born too. I think the key is to keep moving. I am also beginning to get some aches like others and I also quit moving these last few weeks so I am determined to not give up on the exercise even though I am getting bigger, I always feel better afterwards.
