I've decided to take a hpt, because im really worried and at least then i'll know, but im really confused! when can you take it? the packets seem to say on the first day of your missed period and some just dont say anything? can you take a test any time in the month? or do i need to wait until a specific time?
thank you
It's best to take on the first day of your missed period, taking it too early can result in a false negative, as your hcg levels may not be high enough yet to be detected by a test.
It's too late for that. It would be a few weeks now after the first day of my missed period, or since my last period which was not normal.
so can i just take it whenever? sincei have missed that day?
Just take the test anytime. Like someone else said usually right after you missed a period. Some tests have give earlier results days sooner. Personally I was always buying tests and keepong them on hand and just taking them often because I have to know one way or the way. So just go take a test!
Ive taken 2 tests.
One was one with a line, and there was a faint blue line in the "pregnant" box.
The other was a digital one, and it said not pregnant.
So now I dont know what to do!
I have made an appointment with the nurse tomorrow for a test, so hopefully i should get a better answer then, but in the meantime, has anyone had test results like this? I'm really worried now, and in no better situation since i had 2 tests saying different things!
Thanks

if the first one was positive and then you retested soon aftewards and especially if you had drunk lots of fluids you may have diluted the hormone in your urine and that could lead to a negative result. also if you used 2 different types of test they could both have a different sensitivity to hcg and give different results. generally a positive is a positive the longer after your period due date you are the more likely you are to see a darker line on your tests.
There is rarely such a thing as a false positive. If there's a faint line, you're pregnant. I had a very faint line and I have an 11 day old sleeping right now
so faint that you have to look close to see it? but its still there?
even though the digital one says not pregnant?
im sorry for so many questions, i am just, not sure what to do at the moment!
You will have a better answer tomorrow when you see the nurse. A blood test is usually pretty accurate. Try not to stress about it until then. Mine was extrememly faint and I did have to look closely to see it.
Thank you so much!
I guess, well i think i have a sleepless night ahead of me.,
