Pregnancy belly

Okay well this will be my first baby and I am 13.4 weeks. I have read on other sites where other first time moms are already showing? I have a slight pooch and my doc said 1st pregnancy bellies do not POP out till about 20 weeks. I am just wondering am I behind on the belly or is it normal to only have pooch for now? When did yours come? Thanks a bunch

Re: Pregnancy belly

I am also a first timer and mine didn't begin to protrude until about 20 weeks. I am currently 27 weeks now and my belly really didn't become apparent until about week 23. Most people would look at me in public and not be able to tell for sure if I was pregnant or if I was just pudgy.

Re: Pregnancy belly

CONGRATULATIONS LADIES!!!!!!

I'm not a first time mom, but my one and only "baby" is now 18 years old and in college.

My stomach started showing at 22 weeks. Some women don't show until pass the 24 week. Some are just different. One of my co-workers started showing at 16 weeks.

Good luck ladies! Motherhood is a wonderful ride! May you have healthy babies! Enjoy!

Re: Pregnancy belly

I think it depends on how big you are to start. I had a pooch from about 10 weeks on, and then it started popping out at little more at like 16-18 weeks. I'm pretty small though. Now at 34 weeks, it actually looks like a basketball under my shirt LOL.

Re: Pregnancy belly

pre pregnancy i wasn't obese - but i could defintely stand to lose a few pounds and my belly didn't protrude until about 22 weeks.

that was with my first - one child

this time is different. twins... i am maternity shirts and feel most comfortable in full panel pants at 15 weeks

Re: Pregnancy belly

I was not overweight before I got pregnant, but I did not pop out until about 20 weeks. It was irritating because I wanted people to know I was pregnant! I mean I POPPED too! All of a sudden I had the big belly and it was like WHOA! SLOW DOWN!

Re: Pregnancy belly

First pregnancy I didn't pop until 20 weeks but this time it was not a whole lot different. It really depends on your body type. My friend popped at 14 weeks with her first pregnancy. Good luck with everything.

Re: Pregnancy belly

When I was pregnant, I wasn't overweight. Pre-pregnancy, I was standing at 5'7" weighing at 110-120. But I didn't start showing until 22weeks.

I can't remember if you are permitted to put web sites on here, but there is a really good one called "pregnancy.about" that shows real bellies from 5 weeks on, and you can also submit your belly photo too.
