I ordered a fetal doppler. I ws wondering if any of you have used one before? If so can you give any tips? Thansk a bunch.

I also ordered one and wanted to keep it until I could feel the baby moving on a regular basis. My biggest advice:

1. Search low for the heartbeat.

2. DO NOT freak out if you cannot find the heartbeat, some docs even have a hard time finding the heartbeat early in pregnancy.

3. Just remember, the babies heartbeat is going to be very fast, much faster than yours. Don't confuse your placental flow with the baby's heartbeat.

Have fun with it. It was well worth the money for me. We loved hearing his heartbeat and hearing him kick before we could feel him moving.

depending on what company your ordered yours from you may get a cd that lets you know what to look for. definelty look low... for it
the heart beat will literally sound like a horse galloping.. no joke.

another tip... take it with you to your next appt and let the dr or nurse help you find it.

i used it with my last pregnancy and with this one. because i am having twins i don't every know if i am finding both heart beats or the same one twice.

Well it should be here this week so I will let you all know how it works. Thaqnks for the tips. I do not think hubby wanted me to get it cause he thinks I will flip out if I can not find it right away. I knoww though that alot of doc have a hard time.
