I am 29 weeks and I honestly have no idea if I am experiencing BH contractions or not. How does everyone know? Also what does your body feel like when your having one? This is my first pregnancy and I feel so confused!
BH's are not painful at all, it's just your uterus tightening. Suddenly you will feel your stomach ball up and it's hard as rock to touch. I get this weird crawly feeling up my chest and into my throat when I get them. I was informed that I am not the only one who gets this sensation during BH contractions which is good because I thought I was the only one!
Sometimes they are so long and uncomfortable that I have to stop what I'm doing, lean on something and breath through it. Perfectly normal apparently!
Oh ya, I'm 24.6 wks pregnant with my second and I am having the same experiences with this one as I did with my first!
hi brands
i am 29 weeks also and have been having bh's since really early on in pg. your uterus goes really hard if they happen when you sit down it can be hard to stand up straight as the contraction are really tight. when i first felt them i though the baby was lying heavy against the outside of my tummy but then i realised it was my whole uterus feeling hard and that they were bh's. they don't hurt but can be uncomfortable i get quite a lot of them. i know a few pg women who never got bh's
in my opinion......there is no difference. i had braxton hicks starting at 7 months. So, when i was in actual labor....i had no idea..because it felt the exact same to me....and to complicate matters.....contractions were not consistant. from 7 pm. to 4 am....I was on the phone with my sister trying to figure out if it was true labor....contractions bounced all night.....from 5 minutes apart, to 15 minutes, to 2 minutes, back to 30 minutes, then 20 minutes, back to 3 minutes.....it was like that ALL night long!!! Finally at 4 am, I decided that I was waking hubby up..I told him that I had been up all night trying to figure out if I needed to go to the hospital or not...but at that point, I didnt care, I just wanted to go to the hospital so that they could give me something to calm it down, so that I could sleep!! I arrived at the hospital at 6:30 am (hubby just HAD to take a shower...LOL...he assumed that because my first baby took 24 hours to get here, he didnt see the point in rushing this time!...it was sooo funny, plus we had to wait til my parents got there to watch my daughter) ...when I got to the hospital...I was dilated to 5 cm!!! She was born at 1:30 that afternoon!
I never felt any BH contractions, so when I went into labor it was a complete shock... I actually got very worried that i never felt them, and everyone on the board that was due around the same time as me had felt them. Actual contractions for me started out feeling like moderate period cramps, and quickly transformed into a period cramp like i had never imagined.. If your contractions end up anything like mine, GET AN EPIDURAL! haha
