Sides of Butt (hips) hurt

I woke this morning with both of the sides of my butt(close to my hips) aching. It went away eventually once I got up. I sleep on my left side. Did anyone else have this??

Re: Sides of Butt (hips) hurt

How far along are you? I have been having horrible hip pain since about 3 months in and was finally diagnosed with sacroiiliatus (sp?) and bursas (sp?) on the sides of my hips. Has it just started or have you had it before?

Yeah, I figured it was that relaxogen (sp?) hormone that pregnant women have more of. It started around 12 weeks. It was always worse at night when I had been on my feet a lot or exercising the day before. It went away as soon as I got put on bedrest at 26 weeks.

Yes, I've had this since around week 16, ever since I read it's better to sleep on your side instead of your back. There have been times I've gotten up in the middle of the night that I can barely move because the pain is so bad in my hips. The good thing though is that once I'm up and moving, the pain seems to subside.

Every single nite! The only relief I get is laying on my back for a few minutes, then switching to laying on the opposite side. What helped for a good while was getting and egg crate cover over my mattress. And sleeping with a very fluffy pillow between my legs helps alot also.
