you are five months if you go by the method of counting months based on 4 weeks is a month. otherwise count from your lmp how many actual months you are for example i am 30 weeks this is 7 and a half months counting in 4 week months but actual calendar months lmp was end of june so up to now i am 6 and 1/2 months go figure!!!!!!!! in my mind i am in month seven7 if anyone asks hope this helps
The 4 week month is based on the lunar month - it take 4 weeks for the sliver of the new moon to become a full moon and back to a sliver. A 40 week pregnancy is 10 lunar months. At 20 weeks, you've completed 1/2 of your pregnancy - unless your baby is early or late.
The calendar month is longer and irregular, from 28 to 31 days, so is less precise and more confusing.
My doctor told me that most babies come within 5 days of their due dates.
I usually tell people (and myself) how many weeks I am. I work in a school so the kids are confused by that though so I tend to us the #of weeks I've actually been pg with them cause I don't want to get into the issue of the first two weeks after your lmp and conception. Weeks is truly easier and more percise anyway though.
