How normal is it to not gain weight in the first trimester? I am just about to go into my second trimester (13 weeks along) and my nurse is unhappy with me because at my last appointment, I had lost five pounds. She said they are mostly concerned because I am already slightly underweight for my build and all.. and i had to explain that I have been very, very sick up until this point, which resulted in me being unable to eat. Since then, I have been feeling SO much better, and I've been eating just about everything in sight, but still haven't gained too much weight. I know you usually don't start packing on the pounds immediately, but I'm starting to get concerned too! Any advice?

as long as you are eating good now i really would not worry about it. i lost like 10pds in my first trimester due to m/s but have started gaining weight now.
when you go back maybe you will have gained some weight and your nurse will feel better.
take care,
robin
I didn't lose weight inmy first tri but I didn't gain any for like 4 months because I felt soooo sick now I am 28 weeks and I have gained 10 pounds. It will come and catch up later, just eat good.

It is normal because some people are just so sick that they wont gain any weight. I've actually been like this throughout my pregnancy. I gain a couple pds than lose more than I've gained. I've been lucky to hold at like 195 (I wasn't small when I got pregnant) but honestly I've only gained like maybe 3-5 pds throughout the entire thing but my son is growing perfectly fine.
Im 36 weeks, and I didn't really gain any weight until I was about 5 or more months along. My doctor never seemed concerned since I was small to start with. It's all catching up with me now. I've gained about 22 pounds. I think you are just fine.
I am 13 weeks and I just put on 1 pound so far due to m/s as well, I am very small and the dr was concerned as well. Seeing as I put on a pound I am going in the right direction. I am eating much better now but still not a huge appetite. Dr wants me on the higher end of the weight gain I am not sure just ho I will manage that but it is possible.
