HI EVERYONE I HAVE A STRANGE QUESTION.....
i am 28 weeks along. when i first thought i was pregnant it was the beginning of august as i didn't receive my period. so i went to a clinic on the 17th of August, to get an ultrasound just to see where i was at (weeks wise, this of course after a postive pregnancy test at home). and in fact she said i was pregnant and that i was aprox 7 weeks along, so i was thinking like weeks as in calender weeks..(making sense>?) so i was thinking the baby was conceived in the first week of july but in fact it was the 11th of july that the conception occured. i'm still very confused but i trust my doctor and i just don't understand the "week". is it different?? (obviously) and how much different because it seems like theres a two week difference, so if conception occured the 11th i would think april 11th would be the due date but in fact she said it is the 4th...?? please help i'm confusing myself.lol

oh yes my lmp date was june the 28th

Congratulations!! Firstly most dr's use the date of your lmp to determine the baby's due date. Your lmp was June 28th so most dr's add 9 months and 1 week to get your due date which would be April 4th 2006. Your date of conception was probably the 11th of July. You'll be 29 weeks tomorrow!!

I guesstimated my LMP as July 2nd because it was a wacky one. I will be 28 weeks tomorrow (Monday) and I am due April 9th.

Hi there, Lets see if i can explain this so that you all can understand how the medical professionals calculate an EDC.

A full term gestation is 40 weeks. Your EDC is determined using the first day of your LMP. So if you look on a calender and find the first day of your LMP and then count 40 weeks that will be your EDC.

In all actuality you really are only pregnant 38 weeks total, due to the fact that your EDC is calculated using your LMP and conception usually occurs at approx 15 days (mid/halfway) into your cycle. So the first two weeks counted of the 40 week gestation you arent usually pregnant as conception hasnt occured yet.
