dilating question
I am 33 weeks pg and last week i was having contractions and was dilated at 1cm. They got the contractions to stop but I am curious...once you start dilating do you stay there or does your cervix close back up???

You will stay there but you may (hopefully) go through the rest of the pregnancy (or at least closer to your due date) without dilating any more than 1 cm.

I've been dilated a fingertip or so since 26 weeks. Still there. I'm 35 weeks now and almost done with my bedrest. It doesn't close back up, but if you take it easy sometimes you can prevent it from going any further. Good luck.
