October Moms?

Hi. I just took 3 different brand pregnancy tests and all 3 were positive. I go in for a blood test in 2 days. My lmp was 1/11, so my EDD will be sometime in mid-October. This is my first pregnancy so I am very excited My breasts are really soar and I'm feeling bloated. I've had off and on cramps. At what point do you notify your employer/supervisor that you are pregnant? Good luck to all for the next 9 months>

Re: October Moms?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I just got an BFP yesterday and again this morning, this is also my first so I am very excited!! We have been TTC for 3 years and have had a long bumpy road, but I guess it has finally paid off!

I am calculating that I will also be due in October! I have tender breast, bloated, gas and just feel 'different'. I have been seeing a fertility secialist and I contacted the on call nurse yesterday and she said if I got another BFP today then I will go in for my blood test. I cannot wait!!!

I will be telling my boss today as she and I are very close, she will not say anything to the higher ups though, as I will not actually spread the word until I am past the first trimester. As I stated above, this has been a long bumpy road, my boss has been a real trooper with letting me leave to tests and inseminations (we achieved pregnancy with artificial insemination).

Well good luck and I hope we can be PG buddies through this very unfamiliar process!!

Re: October Moms?

Hi Jamye82, congratulations. I too have been seeing a fertility specialist since September. I just got married last October, and decided to start clomid with a second IUI last month. I had a shot of hcg to speed up ovulation- but that was on 1/22- so by now the BFP should be reliable. I took 3 different test brands, and all were definitely positive. I'm glad that your supervisor has been understanding, I wish I could say the same. I am being watched more closely- so it is a good thing this month was positive I'm anxious to get the blood test now, but I have to be there before 10:30 a.m. to get the results back today. I'll have to just go first thing tomorrow morning. Then, I think I'm going to tell my boss. I imagine I'll need to have Dr. Appointments more frequently. I am trying to tell myself I can hang in for 9 more months and then get a break from work. Like you, I won't spread the word to others (except family) until the second trimester. I did an online due date calendar, and it comes back with 10/18 as the EDD. I am happy that one of my dreams is coming true. So glad I have pregnancy buddy!

Re: October Moms?

hi ladies!
also an october mom here! got a bfp last monday and edd is 10/13. i had an m/c last nov. so dh and i are a bit worried, but not too much, since people are telling us it doesn't have to happen again. but i'm definitely more guarded than before and am reluctant to telling people this time around.
as for symptoms: i have VERY sore boobs incl. nipples, low back pain, gas, headaches, a good appetite but queasy throughout the day, and get tired around mid day.

both times we conceived the first month trying, so i consider us VERY lucky in that aspect! I could not imagine having to go through what you guys went through, so well done ladies

we are so excited as this will be our first, and i look forward to sharing stories with you all in the coming 9 months!! CONGRATULATIONS again to all of us october mommies out there!!!

B.

Re: October Moms?

Yay a October mommy thread .Congrads to all you ladies .I am also an October mommy-to-be .10/07 is estamated to be my due date.
Went to doctor yesterday with dH and he was more exciting than I was.His smile was ear to ear no kidding.looking at how they grow from week to week he was on top of the world.I thought it was so sweet. He is already planning when to start to read to my belly and everyhting else you can do to at this point and after.Yep our little one life is already planned out if I leave it to DH.He was excited when we first found out but I believe the doctor visit made it more of a reality for the both of us.He had been very deppressed and had in the back of his mind he couldn't have kids.I would assure him time and time again it just wasn't our time but he would get depressed from time to time and now I have never seen him so happy since we've been together.

I had sore Nipples, Crying and feeling off ,like my body was trying to tell me something.

Congrad ladies and hope to go through this with you all

Re: October Moms?

Glad we have a thread going Befer70, I am sorry about your m/c last november. You will be fine this time. Is this the first pg for everyone? I went for the blood test this morning and it came back positive. I go for follow-up blood work on Thurs. and then an ultrasound next thurs. I'm thinking my EDD will be 10/17, but I think they'll have a better idea after the ultrasound. Right now I'm at exactly 4 weeks and I have soar breast, on and off cramping, tiredness. Luckily, no nausea yet (I'm hoping this doesn't happen!) Let me know how you are all doing!

Re: October Moms?

I'm late joining this thread! I have an estimated due date of 10/7 (same as qteepie's).

I did 3 home pregnancy tests, all positive. Went to my regular family practitioner to confirm (only urine test though), that was positive. Although we really just wanted to go to her to talk because she's been such a great doctor to me and this is our first and we don't know what we are doing!

I have my first OB/GYN appt. this Thursday afternoon.

What can I expect at this appt? I know blood work and medical history, but will I have an internal ultrasound to see the sac or will I be able to hear the heartbeat?

I'm so excited! And I'm happy to have others to go on this journey with.

Oh, and only my immediate family knows. I will not tell my employer until after the first trimester.

Re: October Moms?

qtee- my dh is very cute too, he keeps patting my stomach saying "keep growing little one!" aww, so cute!! and today i made an appointment, which isn't until march and i didn't think he was going to make it because it's around 11am, but he said he wouldn't want to miss it for anything! So, all that PLUS putting up with my newly aquired bitchiness, definitely makes him hubby of the year!!!

mum2be- let us know how your ultrasound went! i read about your bleedings and am concerned!! even though it's still early to see much of anything but at least they can see whether there is a sac or not. when i had my m/c they did an ultrasound after to check whether everything was out or not, and in that case you DON"T want to see anything. keep your chin up and remember, mother nature takes good care of our babies who just aren't yet ready to be with us. However, i think everybody in here is keeping our fingers crossed for you and the little one!!! some women just bleed more through their pg than others. So chin up, girl and keep us posted, yes?!!

trooper- did another test this morning and was definitely MUCH brighter than last week, so there is no denying it any longer, haha (as if my sore boobs and my increasing nausea weren't doing the trick already!!) and i have a feeling that this one is a keeper!
told my mom sunday, but she had to promise me not to tell anyone just yet. and my boss also knows, but i kinda had to tell her cause she was going to have me carry heavy stuff around. she's very supportive though and totally excited for us, especially since what happened last year.

anyhow, we're all in this together and loving it, right girls??? can't wait to hear more story swapping!!!

Re: October Moms?

Hey ladies, how is everyone doing this morning? I am doing good, feeling a bit nauseous, but I guess that is to be expected! I have my second blood pregnancy test tomrrow to ensure my counts are all going up like they are suppose to, so I'm pretty nervous and excited about that!

Trooper-
That is so exciting that you are having your first U/S tomorrow, are you like 8 weeks? Well I was talking to my fertility nurse yesterday and she said as long as all is fine tomorrow with my second blood pregnancy test, then we will schedule my first appt at 6 weeks with them and she said at 6 weeks you can hear the heartbeat!! So I am sure you will also be able to because if I remember correctly, you tested a week before me. I remember you announcing it on the TTC boards

Rachael-
Congrats on your BFP!!

Mum2be-
How did your U/S go last night, please let us know!!

Anyway, have a great day, I will check back in later

Sticky Dust!!!!

Re: October Moms?

Morning Ladies,

Jayme, I am only 6 weeks along, that's why I was wondering about the first appointment with my OB/GYN. I'm not sure if I will be able to hear the heartbeat or not. I really, really want to. I was bummed that they made the appointment for so soon, as I wasn't expecting to go until at least week 8. But the nurse there said that was way to late. I guess I'll take what I can get. I was just wondering if they would do an internal ultrasound to see the sac or not.

Befer, lol you crack me up - you are like me with the tests! I wrote in my Mommy Journal and the 'what to expect when you are expecting organizer' last night and was explaining the 3 hp tests to my baby. I had to laugh at myself because it looked ridiculous. It has you list each pg test and the results. I had 4. LOL I'm also surprised that your first appt isn't until March - especially with what happened last year.

Mum2be - you were in my prayers last night. Please let us know how everything went.

Rachel - congrats! I'm a first time mommy here too.

I have had no morning sickeness what-so-ever. And I'm not tired at all. Is that weird? The only thing we can think of is that I'm super healthy and was running 5 miles 5x a week and doing resistance training. I'm still running, just adding 2 miles of walking to the mix.

I just don't feel pregnant. I cramp, but my regular doctor said that is perfectly normal.

I have lots of questions for my baby doc tomorrow! (wrote them all out last night). Gee can you tell I'm a book worm and a nerd - I have so many baby books that I read before I go to bed!
