Excercise programs during pregnancy

I have a membership at a community gym which offers yoga classes but not ones specially targeted towards pregnant women. Would it be safe to take regular yoga classes and stretching? And what about aquatic exercise classes?

I would really like to kepe in shape while I'm pregnant but I've been afraid to take certain classes. I'm also afraid pool water may hurt the baby.

My dr told me to continue doing what exercise routine you were doing before pregnancy, if you haven't done any then walking is great for cardio and you should find a yoga video that is for prenatal because there are certain poses that are dangerous for the baby. I am 6 months and have continued to jog, elliptical and do weights ith yoga as well but have tined it down a great amount. The key is if you are uncomfortable stop. Ask your dr what is best for you only they will give you the best advice.

Just make sure you tell the instructor that you are pregnant. He/she may not be able to (or may not be certified to) modify the workouts for you, or the gym might want you to sign a liability waiver. They will probably ask for a doctor's note saying that it's ok for you to participate.

Isn't it great living in such a litigous society!!

Just so you know pool excersize is awesome during pregnacy, my doc ok'd it with flying colors.
For the rest you are suppose to beable to continue anything that you had once done before pregnant but when you get tired you are supose to stop and just minimize it once you get farther along.
