I just found out that I'm pregnant. I've been taking tons of vitamins including prenatal (AM), Vit. E (200 mg, AM), Vit C (1000 mg, AM), Selenium (200 mg, AM and PM), B-complex (100 mg, PM), B-6 (100 mg, AM), Folic Acid (400mcg, AM), Magnesium (250 mg, PM), Calcium chew (which includes Vit. D and K, PM), Flax seed oil (AM an PM), and baby asiprin (AM)
Is all of this safe to take while pregnant? I told my doctor about most of these while I was TTC and he thought it was fine....I'm just wondering that now that I'm pregnant, is it ok to take these or should I stop immeidately.
When trying to get pregnant I wouldnt consider them bad though I know some vitamins can cause issues if you take to many of them. I would consult your doctor if you are taking them and start taking a prenatal, they have all the extra you need and you wont have to worry about all those. But I would definatly talk to him.
I have read that you shouldn't take too much vit. A and vit. E. I would just take whatever is in the prenatal for that. I have read that you shouldn't take flaxseed while pg. but I don't know why. I wouldn't take baby asprin unless your dr. specifically told you to take it. You really shouldn't have to take so many extras as long as you take your prenatals and eat healthy. Remember you are getting vitamins in your food too.

Yes I heard of the flaxseed thing and I was put on baby asprin for a few weeks during my pregnancy for something but he said not to take it unless he said too. The only safe pain relief you can take is tylenol.
No I'm sure there was no damage done. You do need extra folic acid in the beginning so check that your prenatal has 400 mcg.
There are also cereals that you can eat daily that have a normal daily supply of folic acid in them. Obviously not the daily supply for a pregnant women but all of it helps and cereal tastes better than another pill.
