My friend did 2 HPT and both were positive. Could these be wrong?I think it would be great if we are pg together but she is devastated! She has an eight year old and wasn't trying. Can you have false positives? She is trying to get a doctors appnt. this week. Thanks!!!
A positive is a positive no matter how many times you do it, the only other time is if you are on some fertility meds and obviously shes not so, I would tell her congrats.
Meg
my wife and i talked to a doc and she told us it is extremly rare but possable more then likely she is pg and she does need to c a doc good luck to her
The only thing I know that it could be is an evaporation line. It took me 3.5 yrs to get pregnant so I have taken tons of hpts. I have never had a false positive, but I have had evaporation lines from letting the test sit to long. If she read the test in the time it said to on the instructions, I would say that it is positive.
It's too bad that she is devastated because she is definitely prego! Hopefully she can come to terms with it and soon. Having an 8 year old is good in a sense that she doesn't have two little ones to chase around and the older child can be a great help.
The only time you can have a positive result and find out later you're not is if you miscarry.
Tell her to join in here if she needs reassurance and support.
Thanks girls! That's what I thought. She has a doctors appointment for Wednesday but she seemed to be more accepting today.Hormones can be tough in the first trimester(for me anyway) so hopefully things will get better! Thanks again!
She might not be pg. A friend of mine told us last spring she was expecting, that she was trying, was late and had a positive. It turns out she wasn't pg but later discovered that she had PCOS and it interfered with the hpt reading. I know nothing about why this happened but it did. She has now been told that the chances of conceiving naturally are very slim for her....good thing she already has 2 girls.
Well, she did another test.It was the digital where it read "pregnant".So She is pretty sure she is.She will see the doctor tomorrow.I hope things change for her...I think they will after she gets used to the idea. Thanks everyone for the replies!
