Exclamation Aspirin

I had a check up yesterday and the doc told me that me platlet count was very high so he has told me to take an aspirin each day. He then went on to say that if i had any bleeding or cramps during this time to stop and go straight to the hospital.

does anyone know has aspirin some effect on per-term babies ????

Thanks

Re: Aspirin

From what I know the only reason they dont want you to take asprin is because it causes thinning of the blood, but becuase your platlets are high they want that to occur to an extent. I wouldnt worry about it having any issues regarding the development of the baby its basically just a saftly procedure if you go into labor they dont want a women to bleed extra because of the asprin, but your case is differant.
Thats just my opinion it may be wrong. My daughter had a condition where she had low platelets so I know the opposite of your situation.

Re: Aspirin

I have heard that some women take baby aspirin. Did he put you on low-dose aspirin? Some women have a clotting disorder and this can lead to m/c. Your DR is probably just being cautious. If you are unsure though, you should ask more questions. Maybe even get a second opinion if you are able. Best of luck to you!
