I missed my last period, but I'm on birth control. My period was supposed to start a week ago today but I didn't even spot. Well I went to the doctor and she wanted to perform a urine test. It came back faint, but positive nonetheless. She took some blood and did a Qualitative pregnancy test. It came back negative this morning. But she told me that if I didn't start my period next time around to take another urine test. What should I think of this? Is it possible for me to be pregnant and still get a negative result on the Qualitative test if its really early in the Pregnancy? Like less than two weeks?
P.S. I've NEVER had irregular periods, and I have been pregnant twice before now. But I didn't test either time until around 4 weeks.

I would go ahead and prepare like you were pregnant -- folic acid, no smoking, etc. Then I would wait until the end of the week and try another HPT -- get one at a dollar store for cheap. Keep testing every few days until you either get a BFP or you get AF.
No, I haven't... but it could be that there just isn't enough hCG to register yet. I don't know what the threshold is for the qualitative test, though. You might call a couple of clinics and ask if they do a quantitative test instead.
I have taken a few HPT's since the post, all of which came back negative. And on top of that I started spotting on Saturday. Very light spotting. And it has now stopped so I'm guessing I'm not pregnant. Thank you guys for replying though!!! I really appreciate it!
Well, as of April 24th I finally had my period. It lasted for about 7 days, so I'm convinced that I am definitely not pregnant. Maybe the doctor was right when she said that I missed my period in March b/c of stress. Thank you to everyone that gave me advice during that really stressful time!
