Can medicines effect pregnancy blood test
I read an article that said diuretics (known as "water pills") can effect a blood test for pregnancy... it said the test may show negative even if you are pregnant. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I would imagine it has something to do with diluting the amount of hCG in your blood. If you are doing a quantitative test, there should be no problem since it measures the amount of hCG. A qualitiative test, on the other hand, is similar to a urine test in that it only detects hCG over a certain level.

Did you ask your doctor about it?
