Belly not totally firm yet, will 3D u/s still work?
Hey, sorry I've given no formal introduction, my name's Jess.
I'm 18wks and have an appt. for a 3D u/s on 4/7/06. My question is, since my belly isn't totally firm yet, will it still work? My uterus is just at my navel, and is hard on the inside. I'm just worried that I'll have to have another vaginal u/s and not get the video yet (man, what a keepsake!!). Any comments?

Ultrasounds, 2D, 3D or 4D will work if your tummy is big and firm or not! I have seen some pretty awesome 3D pics of very small babies! (8,10 and 12 wks). Don't worry, just enjoy your experience!

I had a 3D/4D ultrasound done at 15 weeks with no water in my bladder
and had great pictures!!! I really can't enjoy the ultrasound experience with
32 oz of water in my bladder. I did it once with my first child and never again! They could still see the baby clear. I also had one done at 12 weeks and could see the baby just fine. I am not really sure why you have to drink so much water, but they say it makes your bladder act like a window for them to see through. You probably may be able to see the baby a little bit better with a full bladder, but I just can't do it =) .........Good Luck~
