I had my tubes tied a little over a year ago. I had an ectopic pregnancy and had emergency surgery. While I was in the hospital I decided to have the remaining tube tied. I didnt plan on having any more children. ( I already have 2 healthy boys)
Anyway, Its now been over a year and I havent had any problems. My period is very regular, I'm never late. I dont smoke/do drugs. BUT, Im about a week late on my period and that is very rare! I'm a little worried here. I ALWAYS start on the 27th or 28th day and it has ran WAY over that time frame. How possible is it to become pregnant after having your tubes tied? Maybe I'm worrying for nothing.
Anyone out there know of this happening?
My understanding (purely academic) is that it is, indeed, possible to get pregnant after a tubal ligation -- that the tubes can "regenerate." One website I looked at said that that happens to 1 percent of women, and is more frequent in younger women. By now you should be able to take a test if you're still worried.
