sweetners v. artificial colorings (tartrazine)

I've been wanting to suck on hard candy a lot -- it seems to help with nausea. However, every candy I've found has either tons of artificial colorings or artificial sweetners. Which is better? I'd take the colorings over aspartame any day, but what about isomaltitol and sucralose? I think those are just versions of Splenda.
