Pregnant and high Liver Enzymes??
Hi all,
My twin sister is pregnant and her liver enzymes are quite high and have got higher each time the blood tests have come back. She is seeing a consultant next week, but shes worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be nothing? She is 16 weeks.

i was told that i causes massive itching but i am not sure how it can effect her pregnancy. i am sure it does if they are sending her to someone about it.

i had big problems with my liver i was alerted to it by eccessive drinking because of an unquenchable thirst. my alt part ogf the liver function tests were very high almost 700 and top of normal is 50 and they had to deliver me at 36 weeks as my ds was distressed. they still don't know what was wrong with me i have been referred to a specialist in liver problems in pregnancy to find out if it will happen in future pregnancies and to find out if he knows what was wrong with me. oh and i got better after delivering ds.
glad your sister is getting good care it took weeks before anyone took me seriously while i swelled up like a balloon. i hope all is well and she does not have a big problem like i did. take care
