Newlywed needs help

hi, my wife has just been diagnosed with bipolar and had frequent panic attacks and is always VERY stressed. Is there still a chance she can become pregnant and not miscarry or even go through witht he birth?

Re: Newlywed needs help

While anything is possible, what you want to know is is it probable? And that's a question for a doctor.

I would recommend going to an OB and having a pre-conception visit where the doctor can discuss with you both how her medical history, medication, and health concerns.

No sense wondering when you can get straight answers from the horse's mouth!

Good luck!

Re: Newlywed needs help

Hi -

I agree that this is a question best answered by a doctor familiar with your wife and/or her diagnosis and medicine(s). There are probably plenty of folks with this diagnosis who have had successful pregnancies, but who probably benefitted from good medical care and management, too.

Wishing you well - Barbara
